Flood is over

THE LAKE CHAMPLAIN LAKE LEVEL AT THE KING STREET FERRY DOCK IN
BURLINGTON WAS 99.90 FEET...AND THE WATER TEMPERATURE WAS 42 DEGREES

"Flood stage" is anything over 100 feet, so the lake is back in its normal state by about an inch.

Another sign of spring, we are getting back into the midweek evening paddle habit.

Tom brought his harpoon. Most of his shots were pretty close on target, so I'd say as long as he's out there the lake is safe from marauding walruses.

I think that last shot got one of the Coast Guard's Zodiac boats.

I got a few tries and got some good loft (so the harpoon enters the water point first and if there was a seal there it wouldn't just smack it with the back of the shaft) but the range could use some work.
